Proposed Solution
AfyaLedger is a blockchain-based cybersecurity solution designed to enable authorized public health institutions to securely exchange and verify digital health records and referrals. Sensitive information will be securely encrypted and stored off-chain, while cryptographic hashes, digital signatures and relevant verification metadata will be recorded on a distributed ledger. When a receiving health facility receives a record. AfyaLedger can verify its cryptographic hash and digital signature. If the information has been modified, the system detects the mismatch and generates a security alert. AfyaLedger is a decentralized interoperability and security layer. It allows existing hospital systems to communicate securely while ensuring that the patient remains the ultimate owner of their data.
