Software (Web & Mobile) ATCMtaaFix: Community Issue Reporting and Government Response Platform
Problem Statement
Citizens frequently encounter community problems such as damaged roads, uncollected waste, broken streetlights, blocked drainage, water leakages, and damaged public infrastructure. However, reporting these issues to the responsible government authorities is often fragmented and difficult to track. Citizens may rely on phone calls, physical visits, social media, or informal messages, which may not provide a clear way to know whether an issue has been received, assigned, acted upon, or resolved. At the same time, government authorities may lack a centralized platform for receiving, assigning, monitoring, and analyzing community issues, making it difficult to track response times and ensure accountability. This creates a need for a digital platform that provides a structured and transparent connection between citizen reporting and government response, allowing issues to be reported with evidence, tracked from submission to resolution, and monitored by responsible authorities.
Proposed Solution
MtaaFix is a mobile and web-based platform designed to provide a centralized and transparent connection between citizens and government authorities for reporting and resolving community problems. Through the mobile application, citizens will be able to report issues such as damaged roads, uncollected waste, broken streetlights, blocked drainage, and water leakages by providing a description, location, category, and photo evidence. Each report will receive a unique tracking number, allowing the citizen to follow its progress from submission to resolution. Government officers will use a web-based dashboard to receive, verify, assign, update, and close reported issues. Citizens will receive notifications whenever the status of their report changes. The platform will also provide analytics to help government decision-makers identify frequently reported problems, affected areas, response times, and unresolved cases, improving accountability and public service delivery.
Innovation
The innovation of MtaaFix is transforming community issue reporting from scattered channels such as phone calls, physical visits, and social media into a single, traceable digital process connected directly to government response. MtaaFix combines location-based reporting, photo evidence, automatic case tracking, status notifications, and a government monitoring dashboard in one platform. Each reported problem becomes a trackable case from submission → assignment → action → resolution, creating greater transparency and accountability. The platform is also designed for low-end Android devices and low-bandwidth environments, making digital public-service reporting more accessible to citizens with limited connectivity.
Expected Impact
MtaaFix is expected to improve communication, transparency, and accountability between citizens and government authorities in addressing community problems. The expected impacts include: Faster reporting and response to community infrastructure and public service problems. Improved transparency, as citizens can track their reports from submission to resolution. Greater government accountability through clear assignment and monitoring of reported issues. Reduced need for physical visits and repeated follow-ups at government offices. Better decision-making through data on recurring issues, affected locations, unresolved cases, and response times. Increased citizen participation in improving their communities and public service delivery. Improved public trust and satisfaction through visible and trackable government responses.
